I was reading this morning in Proverbs 11. There are some very powerful words in verse 9. "A hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge the just shall be delivered."
Jesus warned us that in the last days before his return multitudes of people would be deceived and drawn away from God by false teachers and false prophets.

I recently saw a minister on TV who was almost apologizing to some "unnamed Christians" who hold to the idea that the Old Testament is not relevant us.
For any minister to apologize for two thirds of the Bible is foolish and misguided.
Those who believe that the only part of the Bible relevant to Christians is the New Testament are the ones who haven't bothered to read and understand the Old.
Does it not occur to them that two thirds of the Bible is Old Testament? Did God make a mistake?
Of course not. See I Corinthians 10. Paul talks about the mistakes made by the children of Israel when they rebelled against God and complained against Him. In verse 11 he says:
"Now these things happened to them as an example and it was written down as a warning to us upon whom the ends of the ages have come."
It was written as a warning to US upon whom the ends of the ages have come. It was written for US. Wait, let me scream it from the housetops, IT WAS WRITTEN FOR US!!!!!!!!
My friend, if you don't read the whole book you will never understand the whole story. You will never understand how to properly relate to this Great God we worship. You will never see yourself properly in relation to God. You will never get it.
Read the book of Hebrews. That's in the New Testament. It should shake you up a bit if you read it carefully. Or how about the book of Jude or the epistles of Peter? Those are all New Testament books that warn us using examples out of the Old Testament. They all found the Old Testament significant and profound and it messages to us things to be heeded.
IT'S WRITTEN FOR US!!!!!!! Don't buy the lie - the heretical lie - that the whole book isn't for us today. Read it and see. I dare you.
